Army Credits Used for Strip Clubs, Gambling, Elvis Photos
GAO investigation finds U.S. Army personnel have used government-travel charge cards at strip clubs, to book cruises, for Internet gambling, mortgage payments and closing costs, to buy cars, an engagement ring, racetrack betting, Elvis photos from Graceland and other questionable personal uses.
It found 40 people with total bad debt of 148,430 whose cards were "charged off" by the Bank of America who still had active secret or top secret clearances as of early May.
Although I expect that many large company audits find similar problems, I would be surprised if companies didn't punish those involved. The accounting office said it found little evidence of disciplinary action against Army personnel who misused the card. Full Story Here
