Stars gotta get their start somewhere, right?
This movie features: Donald Sutherland, Hilary Swank, Ben Affleck, Luke Perry, Paul Reubens (aka Pee Wee Herman) Rutger Hauer, David Arquette and Kristy Swanson. Can you name it? Push "read more" for the answer. It's none other than Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992) which spawned the mega popular TV show with Sarah Michelle Gellar. Who would have though that a Golden Globe winner and two people who now own Oscars would have starred in this movie, among 8 folks I've heard of. Affleck isn't even listed in the short credits, for those interested he plays a basketball player from the opposing school who hands the ball to the vampire. So even though it was 1997's Good Will Hunting that put him on the map, this was one of his starting points, although it isn't listed in his credits and his first film was one year earlier (1991's "Daddy" whatever the heck that is).
As for Swank, who won a best actress Oscar for playing a gender challenged man posing as a woman in "Boys Don't Cry", this was the first movie listed in her credits. The others I guess can't do much better, other than of course Sutherland who had already been the biz almost 30 years by then.
