America's secret weaopn

Sci & TechWell, not really. If it were *really* secret, would Time Magazine have an article about it?

Hey, on a side note, does it make sense to anyone that the U.S. is only going after the Trilogy of Terror, that all-too-famous axis of evil? I mean, it seems to me that we need to realize that the U.S. will not always be the world's greatest military power. So it seems to me that we really have only two valid strategies, at the core:
1) We could explicitly set the example of pacifism, in the hope that the next superpower treats us as we treated them when we carried a bigger stick. I accept that this may be unrealistic (I have read Macbeth, after all, and understand that power has a tendency to corrupt those who have "too much" power.)
2) But isn't the alternative to say, "we're in charge now, so we're getting while the getting's good"? I'm not talking about rampant imperialism, but just subduing the maturing opposition. We don't need to, say, nuke all of Saudi Arabia. But we have enough subs that could launch these microwave-bombs and could follow it up in major cities around the world with neutron bombs...I mean, couldn't we get pretty much everyone (including China) to call "uncle" in about 15 minutes with enough planning? Sure, there'd be early reprisals, but once we brought fast food, recreational drugs, and pop culture with all it's sexual "vices", wouldn't the maddening masses cry out with gluttonous pleasure "it's BETTER now"?
