Scientific blasphemy

Sci & TechA biology professor in Texas refuses to write grad school recommendations for students who reject "the most important theory in biology," Darwin's theory of natural selection. Truth: I do not want a doctor whose skepticism of scientific theories arises from anything other than logical or scientific thought. (I wouldn't get medical help from a faith-healer, for example.)

What concerns me is that the Justice Department is considering trying the professor for civil rights violations. At issue, does a person have right to provide recommendations in science based on particular set of beliefs, or do religious beliefs trump those rights. Seems to me that advancement of people in a career in science (i.e. passing B.S., M.S, PhD orals disertations, etc) has for centuries been based on you either agreeing with the \"scientific\" beliefs of the review board/professor or providing a convincing argument why his theory is incorrect. I don\'t believe the student meets either criteria in this case. He was \"forced\" to transfer to another university that did allow him to pass since they agreed with his creationist stance.

Creationists can use computers?
