Coalition of the Willing
30 countries are on the official list supporting the war, my initial thought was aren't half of these countries with people who want to be liberated either from a corrupt "democracy", are currently killing ethnic groups, at war with neighbors, etc? Most of the rest just got rid of a dictatorship. But then what struck me was how many were similar to '91 coalition except for the replacement of Arab nations with former Soviet states. Except for the French and the Germans we have a fairly consistent set of friends in the world's ~267 currently recognized countries.
Also only 3 countries on the current U.N. security council, only 3 countries of the world's 15 most populous (U.S., Japan, and Philippines), and 14 of the top 50 most populous countries of the world are part of the coalition.
2003 - 31 nations: Afghanistan, Albania, Australia, Azerbaijan, Colombia, Czech Republic, Denmark, El Salvador, Eritrea, Estonia, Ethiopia, Georgia, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Japan, South Korea , Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Uzbekistan. U.S. State Department says 15 other unidentified countries also have pledged support.
1991 - 34 nations: Afghanistan, Argentina, Australia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Britain, Canada, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Honduras, Italy, Kuwait, Morocco, Netherlands, Niger, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, South Korea, Spain, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United States.
