Charles Grigsby has finally kicked the can, who’s next on American Idol?
Yeah, I feel pretty co-cky (had to get past the censors with that) after correctly saying who would hit the road on last week’s show, and especially since I pegged two of the three “hot seat” participants. Charles Grigsby tried to be something he is not. That cat needs to put the glasses and sweater back on because whoever told him to go Hip-Hop and try singing Michael Jackson is an idiot. Charles was good when I heard him in the prelims, but he got much, much worse as his attitude kicked in and the surroundings certainly adversely affected him. It’s a good thing he got knocked off because I intended to pick him to go out every week until he did…… (see the little “read more”? push it with your mouse) Corey Clark was given a wake up call. The dude’s voice sucks. Simon Cowell called it “diabolical” and norcaldoll agreed when we finally watched the tape of the elimination show. Julia DeMato is this year’s version of that chick with the crappy clothes last year. No, not Ryan Starr, the other chick who wore rags and is now back to singing Karaoke where she belongs. Julia has avoided elimination by the skin of her big teeth, and you’d think her big boobs would garner her more votes. She needs to smoke some of whatever Ruben Studdard is on and relax if she wants to hang around.
Carmen Rasmusen has become a bit of a fan favorite in our house. It is tough not to like the youngest contestant, especially knowing that she has to attend school every day instead of screwing around in Hollywood like the rest of the gang. Simon will try to keep her around, that’s for sure.
So long as Operation: Iraqi Freedom doesn’t pre-empt the coverage, I’m looking forward to a solid round 3 after what amounted to two rounds of warm-ups since it should have been a top 10 instead of 12. That’s another story, but it’s disco and I can’t wait to see what kids who weren’t born yet try to do with this era. I’m hoping at least one person has the guts to sing something outrageous. Should be fun, I’m done for now. Hopefully back with my thoughts on the performances.
