Tina Panas (aka Fabulous) exits gracefully on The Bachelor as Andrew Firestone leads her on
I don’t like the premise of The Bachelor. Maybe I’ve griped about it before, but it bears repeating. The design is to lead women on, crush them, and videotape their tears. Great television? Not really. Even the one woman who “wins” is later crushed, as evidenced by the first two girls parting ways with the guy inside of a few months. I must admit, I missed the start of the episode where Andrew went on his dates with Jen and Kirsten, but after seeing the Hawaii date with Tina I felt like he’d give her a chance to meet his family. I can’t help thinking he pulled an Alex after watching him cover up the sliding glass door with a sheet. Taking advantage of a girl who is 22 isn’t cool, and being given permission by ABC is even more ridiculous. One thing that I like is that Tina said she wouldn’t want to be barefoot and pregnant on a vineyard with Andrew. Good for her, even though I’m not one of her fans I’m glad she stuck up for herself in the limo where most girls crumble.
Back to the reality, which is that normal Jen and feisty liar Kirsten are the final two. Jen seems out of place on the show because I can’t figure out why she doesn’t have a man of her own. I’m very much taken, and I’m certainly not jealous of Andrew in regards to her, but I’m hoping that Kirsten draws the final rose. That’s because I think Andrew is a tool, and Jen deserves better. Kirsten is in it for the money, and still has a boyfriend waiting for her. I’ve been leaning towards Jen as the winner for weeks, but I’ll be disappointed if he picks her. I’m done for now. I’ll try to rant some more after the reunion cat fight next week.
