What was accomplished in Afghanistan?

PoliticWe spent lots of money. People died. Rocks were rearranged. Opium production made a comeback. An oil company resumed development of it's pipeline to central Asia. The two "targets"---Omar and Osama---got away. We placed a consultant to oil companies in charge as a puppet "leader".The people went from the oppressive rule of the Taliban to the sometimes harsher rule of local warlords. And the Taliban's making a comeback. How on Earth can this be declared a success? How can we now say "our work is done here"? What was our work?

I'm so blown away by the fact that the corruption, disgregard for American lives, violation of political treaties, etc. is purportedly justified because several SAUDI's attacked our country. Worse yet, the blatant sell-out to big oil (at the cost of U.S. soldiers' lives, and the decrease of our political freedoms and security) doesn't lead anyone to impeach the criminal Cancer-in-Chief. Oh, if only he'd lie about sexual indiscretions....

Why don't they bomb Saudi Arabia?

Think about it for a while. Where did the attack against the WTC come from? What country did the hate feed from?
We love our Saudi friends

Heck no, we won't attack them. We'll meet with them, get their opinions, etc. In fact, let's refuse to declassify documents that would reveal their involvement with terrorist activities.

Oh, I know what you're thinking: "But the Saudis are the ones who want things declassified. They're upset Bush won't declassify them." Ummmm, right. What a pile of rubbish. It's a coordinated, choreographed activity, meant to make you think that.
So Blair isn\'t Bush\'s lap dog?

Does anyone remember Afghanistan? The ones we liberated? Oh, yeah, they're still fighting the Taliban there. Mission accomplished!
