What do you know?

BusinessPresident Bush wants an enormous, bureaucratic government (hey, that's not a Republican theme). President Bush wants tax cuts. President Bush wants unfunded mandates. President Bush wants deficit spending. Who am I to say he's an anti-American, incompetent economy-killer? Well, I'm not Alan Greenspan, that's for sure. If I were, I'd be a lot more diplomatic and say something like: deficits reduce the savings rate which makes it harder for companies to raise private capital, which in turn constrains our growth.

Of course, Bush would respond: "What? It's your money. We should abolish taxes and all social programs and have obligatory military service so I can play "Army Men" despite the fact that I'm a deserter myself. Who cares if a lot of people suffer. Dick and Donald tell me that they'll have more money. Can I go play Candyland now?

Oooh that stings. So we'll pay lower taxes, but have less purchasing power as individuals? Hey, that doesn't sound like a good thing to me.
