Just the good old boys

EntertainmentFirst Charlie's Angels, now The Dukes of Hazzard is being remade, with Ashton Kutcher and Britney Spears (mmmm...Daisy Dukes). When will we get to see Fantasy Island, staring "mini me" as Tattoo?

Ashton Kucher is so overexposed it isn't even funny. The dude was cool when he was low key on That 70's Show, but now his paycheck and his ego are off the charts.

Luke had a solid frame, Ashton has a beach bum punk wimpy body. Conversely, Paul Walker is too much of a tough guy to play Bo, who was always the gentler of the two.

Britney Spears needs to go into hiding for about 10 years before making a bigger fool of herself. Norcaldoll wisely pointed out that MTV (or some award?) smartly named Christina Aguilera the Best New Artist when both her and BS were up for it. Nice vision.

As for Fantasy Island being redone, it already has. The Sci-Fi channel sometimes runs the new ones with Malcolm McDowell in the lead. There is no mini-me type playing Tattoo, probably out of respect for the actor who killed himself.

Here are some other old shows/movies probably better left alone but making a comeback:

This summer's big-screen S.W.A.T. stars Samuel L. Jackson and Colin Farrell as cops in Los Angeles' special weapons and tactics unit. It was based on the short-lived mid-'70s series whose lineup included Robert Urich.

Starsky and Hutch '04 -- Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson as the buddy detectives (and Snoop Dogg as their street-smart snitch, Huggy Bear)

Father Knows Best '04 -- Starting Tim Allen

Stepford Wives '04 -- Nicole Kidman (Joanna Eberhart), Matthew Broderick (Mr. Eberhart), Bette Midler (Bobbie Markowitz), Christopher Walken, Roger Bart, Glenn Close, Faith Hill.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Fall'03 -- Jessica Biel (Erin Hardesty), Eric Balfour (Kemper Hardesty), Andrew Bryniarski (Leatherface)

Fat Albert '05 -- no announced cast but My Big Fat Greek Wedding director Joel Zwick has signed on

Benji Returns: Rags to Riches (2004)
