Transmeta's still in business?

BusinessI guess so, and they've got a new chip out, if anyone cares. I think if they start grabbing too much market share, Intel and possibly Motorola will just "suddently" release low-power processors.

Transmeta\'s still in business?

Yeah, Transmeta had $5M in revenue in 2Q with $22M loss and lost their main \"asset\" Torvold\'s to sabbatical so I\'m not sure why they worth $200M except for the fact they are sitting on $100M in cash.

Intel actually has a range of very low power Pentium III and now the Pentium M as well as the X-Scale PDA chip so I don\'t think they are very worried about lossing $20M/year in revenue to Transmeta. Transmeta has clearly kept Intel on moving forward with low power designs that they may have not built otherwise.
