I just don’t get it. After weeks of panic that Robert Amstler was going to win Cupid it was instead Lisa Shannon’s choice Hank Stepleton who was voted by America as her best fit. So do they get married on stage and get the possibility of one million dollars if they stay married for one year? No, because they’re both idiots. It must be dumb guy summer on reality TV because Chad Viggiano just made a similar decision on For Love or Money 2. What strikes me as odd is that they genuinely like each other. As a single man he had an opportunity to explore a relationship with a single woman for one year and receive one million dollars to stay with her for 365 days. That’s $1,369.86 more than any other married person receives for staying married. Yes bible toting purists I can hear you crying out how it cheapens the sacred vow of marriage, but they like each other. Why not take a chance, show some guts and do it.

His wimpy excuse that he didn’t want to do it on stage was weak. They could always renew their vows in a formal ceremony later on. At least Dominic Mancini showed the guts to admit that he wasn’t ready to get married, and Robert Amstler clearly indicated that he was ready and would have gone for it.

My conspiracy theory is that Robert won the vote, and CBS went to Lisa and Hank with a proposition. It goes like this. We announce Hank is the winner, but you can’t get married to claim the million bucks. She wasn’t going to get the money because she wouldn’t have married Robert, so what’s it to her?
