Jun Song wins Big Brother 4 but the entire jury house hates her
Big Brother is worldwide in case you didn’t know. Not only that, in other countries the viewers vote for the winner. It was that way in the U.S. in season 1, but viewers didn’t watch so they switched the format to effectively Survivor minus the island. This season produced Alison Irwin and Jun Song in the finals, leaving the final 7 evicted houseguests to vote for their fate. The concept of choosing the lesser of two evils was never more apparent. As they read their votes, almost to a man (or woman) every one of them told Jun how much they despise her after they watched the tapes, which they weren’t allowed to see until they voted. Not that they thought more of Alison, who lied to everyone, used her female persuasion and pissed off even the viewing audience. It was a strange moment to watch Jun win $500,000 and not be congratulated by any of the people who had voted her to get it.
In the end, the season was marred by racial comments both on television and off. When it was down to the two girls and Robert Roman, he tried to bully each of the girls into voting for him to stay. Then the doorknob reveals to them he had called them b’ and ho’s. That ticked them off, inciting racist comments about his Cuban heritage and scary comments about his young daughter. If aired, this would have surely made Robert blow his lid.
The other notable racist comment was made by Erika Landin, who gave one of the weakest apologies to Jee Choe for calling him bleeped names about his Korean heritage. Perhaps they should do another reunion show to see what Jun, who is also Korean, would have to say to Erika. My guess is that she wouldn’t be so forgiving. I’m sure the fireworks would also fly once they find out what was said on the live feeds. At any rate, it is thankfully over and another snake has won. When will these people figure out that the wall fly in the corner is slithering towards the money? I’m done for now.
