Jousting, quantum physics, and exploding granaries. It's a date!

EntertainmentI am so excited. I enjoyed Jurassic Park an abnormal amount. Literary folks said it was cheap sci-fi. CG Animation buffs pointed out that the movie only had 6 minutes of CG, and that much of it was done with puppets or offscreen noises. I loved both. And so when I read Timeline, it was exciting. The book was great (even though it had the severe deficiency of a lack of dinosaurs). But it begged to be made into a movie. And, apparently, it has been made into one. Released next month. I'm definitely going to see it...

I've been meaning to dig out my copy (OK, my Dad's copy. I keep forgetting to return it), so I can comment knowledgably about this, but let's face it, I'll never remember to do it. Timeline was a let down for me. I can't remember specifically what bothered me, all I remember is that it started strong then Crighton seemed to lose his steam. Couple this with the VERY FX heavy trailer I saw for Timeline last night (complete with good-looking, freshfaced teens) and I don't think it will compare to the original Jurassic Park in story or production value. And I say this although I personally perfer knights to dinosaurs.
