Meredith Phillips makes Bachelorette (or Bachelor for that matter) history by doling out 7th rose
There hasn't been a lot to say about ABC's second shot at The Bachelorette thus far, although they might have finally had "the most dramatic rose ceremony ever" after using that line before each past ceremony. That's because Meredith Phillips told host Chris Harrison that she couldn't eliminate four men, as the evening called for, and needed an extra rose. They obliged, although I still can't figure out which guy she was wavering on. Ultimately, she axed Ryan R. who was ticked that he had limited time with Meredith and threw a hissy fit outside. Welcome to the show guy. Rick was also dumped after coming up with a game during the group hockey date that thoroughly embarrassed Meredith by exposing how little she knew about the guys. Rick fell from grace very quickly after getting the first white rose and earning a solo date in the show's opener, then being the first one tabbed for a rose in the second episode. Todd was the other guy shown the door, possibly because of his age. At 36 he was clearly the oldest in the group, although as a San Francisco brewery owner I think he intrigued Meredith. I was most surprised that Ryan M. (can't they get a group together without duplicating a name?) was kept. He never shuts up and he creeps me out. Ian is probably considered a front-runner after he was deemed most compatible and earned a solo date that went well. Chad could be a darkhorse candidate for the final two, and something tells me Matthew isn't done yet. The others moving on are Lanny, Brad and Sean with Lanny probably being the cream of that crop.
Honestly, I'm not seeing a long term match for Meredith thus far but a lot can change when she starts going on individual dates.
