What's your theme song?

EntertainmentEver hear a song and think it captures the essence, or accurately reflects a defining characteristic of somone?

I do.

And I've been talking with a few friends about what their theme songs are. If you know (or think, or want to suggest) a theme song for someone you know at small.to, post it as a comment, here.

Hit read more to see what we've already come up with. Jill thought "Fields of Gold" was accurate for her. I agree.

I thought L.J. Booth's "Blow the Carbon Out" was right for me until Jill suggested Garth Brooks' "The River". (Queen Quon suggested a couple of jokes, the only one worth repeating being Offspring's "Pretty Fly for a White Guy")

Don't have one for Queen Quon, yet (I suggested "Killer Queen", as a joke. Jill thinks Love and Rockets' "So Alive" is more appropriate.)

norcalfella? I haven't talked with him about it, yet. But Bob Seger's "Still the Same" comes to mind.

zen8tao? Jokingly, how about Accept's "Balls to the Wall". Or perhaps Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville? In all seriousness, it probably is a Jimmy Buffett tune.

Don't have one for MickeyLex or sarcasmo, yet.

See now I fancy myself as a little more of a gangsta, so something like "Damn it feels good to be a gangster" or Sublime's "What I really want to know" might be how I see myself. Maybe even Golden Earring's "Twilight Zone". I think I was a hitman in another life. But.... Still the Same is a good choice and a fine song.

I think Joe Jackson's "I'm the man" is a song everyone wants to be their theme song. Well, dudes at least.

For some reason I think dbsmall's song would be something by Elvis Costello, but I'm not very good at this.

I've spent most of my first four decades thematically consistent with Behind Blue Eyes (The Who) and Hair of the Dog (Nazareth), but I aspire to sailing through my remaining years to the accompaniment of Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes (Jimmy Buffett) and Three Little Birds (Bob Marley).

I think that David's theme song is obviously Growing Older But Not Up (Jimmy Buffett).

Buko's, if you've seen him working on the ladies, is Bad to the Bone (George Thorougood). Ha!

I'm not sure what my theme song would be, maybe: 1. I can't drive 55 - Sammy Hagar 2. Cars - Gary Numan (I think - before my time) One for David could be "All the Small Things" - Blink 182 - one of my favorite songs and bands.
