Ken Jennings is new Jeopardy king with $500,000 plus in winnings on 16 shows

EntertainmentKen Jennings had to answer a whole lot of questions correctly and beat over 30 other contestants to win $512,959. Wouldn't it have been easier for him to just go on Who Wants to be a Millionaire?

At any rate, it is unclear if his run (taped in February) is over because I don't watch the show but in game show history he has to go down as one of the all-time studs. I would say he is right there with Michael Larsen who cracked the code and won over $100,000 in a single episode of Press Your Luck. There is a movie in the works about Larsen, and it looks like it will finally be made now that Bill Murray is attached to star.

Ken Jennings is still at it after 18 wins and $601,760. It is a far cry from the 43 wins a row registered by Thom McKee from 1979-1980 on Tic Tac Dough ($312,700 cash and 8 cars) but it is still pretty darn impressive. I wonder what Thom did with all of those cars ....

that's my take

Mr. Jennings (no, not that one) has a blog, himself.  And he's, apparently, not only knowledgable but also intelligent.  Sadly, while he starts out with potential, his jabs at "Jeopardy" in this posting aren't that funny.
