Natalie Janzman wins Outback Jack Vadim Dale's affections over Marissa Clark
In quietly one of the better reality "bachelor" dating shows out there, Aussie Vadim Dale wound up selecting the girl who won over his affections in the long run rather than the one who made his heart skip a beat in the short run. Where the show was successful was in blending twists from other shows that worked out. First off, they threw it in the Outback so the girls had to play a little bit of Survivor. Ironically, that led to the girls voting out Marissa Clark who looks a lot like Elizabeth Hasselbeck (now a co-host on the View) who appeared in Survivor: Outback. Obviously Marissa would be back as the "boomerang" which was one of the show's original twists.
A borrowed twist was the addition of athletic, outback ready women who had a shot to unseat one of the original girls. After a challenge just about straight out of Survivor the new girls won and "Jack" had to send one of "his" girls home.
The girls even got to play a little Fear Factor when they wrestled with baby alligators and then had to figure out if they were male or female by, ahem, putting their hands somewhere I sure wouldn't want to.
Other than that, it was basically the bachelor in Australia. Marissa had Vadim from the very start, especially when he was by her side after she suffered heat stroke in the early going. However, Natalie wore him down over the long haul. In the end, after choosing Natalie and heading off into the sunset on a boat he seemed absolutely relieved. I have never seen a bachelor more stressed during his picks than this guy. He seemed like a huge weight was off his shoulders.
