Bachelor Food

FoodAnd when I say "bachelor food", I mean food that's easily prepared, tastes good, and is cheap. (I actually cooked some fancy stuff when I was a bachelor, but that's a different story.) I "discovered" the following marvelous concoction last night: Spicy ramen with dumplings and veggies

Put 2 cups of water in a pot. Throw in a few of Trader Joe's frozen "Vegetable Gyoza". Bring it to a boil.

Now, stick a packet of Trader Joe's "Soycotash" in a bowl with 1/4 cup of water, and nuke it in the microwave for 3 minutes.

Now that the water/gyoza are boiling, throw a package of instant ramen noodles in there.

Mix a teaspoon of Smart Balance (or margarine or butter) in the half-cooked soycotash. Have your 2 year old put salt and pepper in it and mix it up. Stick it back in the microwave for 3 more minutes.

The ramen's cooked for 3 minutes now, right? So remove it from the heat and mix in the flavoring packet.

Now get your bowl. Pull some of the ramen noodles (but no gyoza or broth) into your bowl. Put some soycotash on it. Squirt a bunch of Huy Fong Sriracha Chili sauce on there. Mix it up. Now, go back and put a couple of gyoza and some soup broth on top.

It's ridiculously tasty.
