Arthur Lydiard knew a thing or two about running
This interview with the legend makes his insights sound simple and obvious. Having not been blessed with an outstanding oxygen-carrying capacity in my blood, or long legs, or any quick-twitch to speak of, I concentrated for years on my form. It's really the only reason I had any success at all as a runner. That and, according to Lydiard, my overtraining/high-mileage, which was criticized by everyone I knew at the time.
