Am I getting stupid, or have I just not taken enough hallucinogens?
So I started reading Foucalt's Pendulum last night. (Picked it up at a library sale.) It took me over 30 minutes to read 15 pages! It's not just that it's a hard read. It throws fact after fact at you, with sentences a mile long, and you have to wonder "is this important for me to remember for the remainder of the book?"So, how about it? I'm not liking it much, right now. Jill?, Sarcasmo?, Sarcasmom?, or anyone else who reads a bunch and visits this site? Have you read FP (or anything else by Umberto Eco)? Is it something I should tough out, that will be worth it in the end? Or is this another 100 years of solitude?
Subtlety is not one of my strengths
