My son's cousins all have PSP's and DSes.  Many of his classmates seem to, as well.  And he really wants one.  But we've refused to get him one for a variety of parental reasons.  Yesterday, he announced that he had saved up enough money to get his own DS.  I drove him around to Wal-Mart and Fry's, and we looked at the variety of DS "Lites" available.

He didn't buy one.  (I'm so proud.)

("I'm going to save my money, so I have some left over after I buy the gaming system.  And maybe something better will come out.") I'm so proud.

But I'm also missing some knowledge here.  When does the nextgen portable gaming system come out?

I assume they'll need to release one with accellerometers in it (like the Wii and iPhone), at least.
