Eczema and dry skin

Food

My son has eczema, and there are some times of the year when it gets pretty nasty.  He sleeps with mittens on, and he's covered in vaseline and A&D, and it doesn't matter.  He wakes up, having scratched his skin off, scabbed up at night.

I've invented my own lotion, an ointment that includes natural oils, antiseptics, and anti-inflammatory agents.

This week, we visited a dermatologist, and got what, for Zachary, seems to be the secret sauce to dealing with these flare-ups.

We were told by the doctor that, despite what the pharmacist said, we could give him a lot more of the prescription anti-inflammatory.    And sure, that helped.  So did the wet-wraps for his elbows and knees.

But I think the key was bleach-baths.  We put 1/2 cup of Wal-Mart bleach in the soaking tub, fill it up, let him sit in it for 10 minutes, and then take him out and lotion him up.

While all the bathing and lotioning was helping with the inflammation and symptoms, the bleach seems to kill the bacteria behind it.

Honestly, if you have eczema or something similar, maybe it's worth asking a medical professional if something like this would help you.

(And, consider buying my all-natural lotion if/when I market it.)
