Caitilin Stoller and Chuck Munyon win Beauty and the Geek - sequel in the works
We've all heard the song lyrics about brains and looks leading to lots of money. Well, for Chuck Munyon and Caitilin Stoller it led to $250,000 . They pulled it off by winning a couple of immunity challengs to avoid the elimination room until the very end. Then it was a 8-8 tie during a ten question showdown where beauty and geek alike had to find out how much they knew about their partner. The initially funny, but increasingly annoying Richard Rubin failed to answer the second sudden death question, not knowing that his partner Mindi Emanuel's middle name was Nicole. Great, now she has to change all her passwords. At the reunion he got it right and earned what was supposed to be a makeout session after being told that he would get one if they won the money. It turned out to be more like a peck, but hey for a guy who had never kissed a girl he wound up smooching three of the seven.
Along the way we got to meet a few other interesting people. Erika Rumsey paired with reluctant virgin Joe Hanson who turned out to be the most likable guy on the show. He got a date at the reunion get together from an audience member. During taping, however, Erika was more interested in hooking up with Brad Hooker. He proved that his 150 IQ and Mensa membership really doesn't mean a lot when you think acupuncture is a word of Japanese origin. In other words he wasn't smart or awkward after hooking up with one of the beauties early on.
Then there's the V.P. of the Dukes of Hazzard club (Bill Lambing) and an assistant Boy Scout Master (Shawn Bakken) who failed in a challenge designed to showcase his skills. Shawn got the last laugh though because he was clearly the most transformed on the show.
For the girls it was 76ers cheerleader Krystal Tini continuing in the tradition of our favorite (not) Bachelorette Trista Sutter who once upon a time danced for the Heat. Scarlet Garcia gets the award for shameless leading on of a geek, namely Chuck. He thought he had a chance and it couldn't have happened to a bigger tool. The way he acted around Richard was a joke, even if the little guy was being too much of a clown.
In the end, thank you DVR for allowing me to watch this show in just a couple of days because I probably would have lost interest otherwise.
