Scott Savol due for an ouster from American Idol 4 finals after rap sheet released
If anyone needed a reason to dislike Scott Savol, they got one when a rap sheet was posted on smoking gun indicating how he roughed up the mother of his child. In summary, he can't sing, is ugly, acts like a thug and now we find out he enjoys getting physical with women. Nice. Let's be clear, this week of show tunes was terrible all around. No one was good, some were just less bad than others. Nadia Turner closed the show with a song from Oliver and turned in by far the best showing of the night, which isn't saying a whole lot. Carrie Underwood did what she could with "Hello Young Lovers" from The King and I but clearly needs to stick with the country music. Bo Bice was just normal, and with the competition left that's good enough for the best three of the week.
Constantine Maroulis gave an interesting take on "My Funny Valentine" but it was a little dull for me. Vonzell Solomon was out of her league with "People" from Funny Girl by Barbara Streisand but it wasn't bad. Anwar Robinson was at the bottom of my middle group with a tune from Camelot and doesn't have much time left.
Nikko Smith continues to make the most of his second chance, but his West Side Story effort wasn't anything special. Scott Savol opened with "The Impossible Dream" and that about sums up his chances of getting any votes this week. Still, he avoided our low ranking because Anthony Fedorov's "Climb Every Mountain" was awful.
WHO IS OUT? This is an easy one, Scott is history. He will lose a ton of votes from the girls, who must make up about 90% of the voting pool given that unheralded guys keep staying alive, and that's a deal breaker. Nadia is the only one to be in the bottom three twice, but I think she was good enough to avoid a third trip. Anthony and Anwar are the most likely to keep Scott company on stage with Anthony being sent back to the couch first and Anwar escaping the dagger for now.
