That's right, you're not from Texas

PoliticWhat makes people cling to the notion that artificial boundaries correllate with inherent superiority? What is it that makes me write incoherent sentences like the one above?

Folks who know me know I've wondered why Texans seem to think, by dint of geography, that they're superior. They also know that I've argued that Texas has produced more societal garbage than their populariont would warrant.

And now MickeyLex tells me of the T-shirts in Pasadena, prior to the Rose Bowl. "F--- y'all, I'm from Texas," they said. You may now "riff" in response to that.

You mean to say that I am not superior because I am from California? Damn, now I have to find a new identity. I was clinging to my last ray of hope as a USC Trojan fan, but since that died too, I am lost at sea.

Well, Texas still thinks they won the War. In places they even call it the Republic of Texas. Or you're in the country of Texas. It would be more ok if they would say you're in Texas country. Because so many of them are country and aren't too sophisticated. The word redneck may have orginated there.
