Where the WTF

The fam and I went to see Where the Wild Things Are, today.  The kid (almost 7 y.o.) was scared a few times, and didn't seem discouraged or confused by some things that puzzled me.

 

I mean, the movie is one part WTWA, one part Lord of the Flies, one part Timothy Leary, and one part Ordinary People.

What's Next for Portable Gaming Systems?

EntertainmentMy son's cousins all have PSP's and DSes.  Many of his classmates seem to, as well.  And he really wants one.  But we've refused to get him one for a variety of parental reasons.  Yesterday, he announced that he had saved up enough money to get his own DS.  I drove him around to Wal-Mart and Fry's, and we looked at the variety of DS "Lites" available.

He didn't buy one.  (I'm so proud.)

("I'm going to save my money, so I have some left over after I buy the gaming system.  And maybe something better will come out.")

Last weekend, we were up in Sacramento visiting my mother.  Zachary (my son) really needed a haircut, and we passed one of those "$11 haircut" places, so we went in.
