MLB PLAYOFF PREVIEW 2002

The post-season is upon us, and finally we have some games that mean something. The division races left a lot to be desired given that Minnesota (30 ス up) and New York (10 ス up) were never threatened, and the loser out West had a wild card waiting. Likewise in the NL, Atlanta (19 up) and St. Louis (13 up) rolled to division titles. Arizona had the division well in hand, even though San Francisco pushed them a little at the end. So the only real drama was San Francisco holding off Los Angeles for the wild card. On to the preview and predictions.

New Top 20: College Football Recap 9/28/02

Well I said Louisville would give the fans their money's worth, but I didn't think they'd be singing in the rain after a victory. But that was one of only three games I missed en route to a 15-3 record.

NFL Predictions 2002: Week 4

SportEight teams went into last week at 2-0, and 6 of them came out at 3-0, the most possible since New Orleans met Chicago and Oakland was off. Teams I was impressed with in week 2 went 5-0 so I guess some of the time I know what I知 talking about. Miami impressed me for the second time in a row, and New Orleans for the third straight week. Philadelphia was the only other team to do so, and they did it for the first time this year. They go up against teams with a combined 2-7 record, so naturally I知 taking all 3 to win this week.

College Football Predictions 9/28/02

Following a week where 37% of my picks were as close as you can get without calling the psychic hotline, and I got 74% of my winners, I'm feeling pretty good about this week's selections.

NFL Predictions 2002: Week 3

Well, I should have stuck with the teams that impressed me in week 1 because they went 4-2 while I had them going 2-4. The teams that I felt came up big in week 2 were Oakland, New Orleans and Denver for a second time, and New England, Miami and Tampa Bay. To show I致e learned something, this week I知 picking them to go 3-2 because Oakland (2-0) is off. Joining them on a bye will be Baltimore (0-2) , Jacksonville (1-1) and Pittsburgh (0-2).

I was 9-7 straight up and against the spread last week, and 8-8 against the over/under. For the year I am 17-15 straight up, 13-18-1 against the spread, and 16-16 on the over/under. This week I知 offering up an even 7 up split on the over/under, with all the favorites winning, but 3 teams covering the number.

Three Sports Photos

1) When'd they snap that photo of me? Photo from the world's strongest man contest

2)Ug-ly. Photo of a post-accident bicyle racer.

3)Tim Montgomery shatters the 100 meter dash record. Very nice, Tim. Unless you've got a better masking agent than Ben Johnson had, though, best not to flex for the camera. (Yes, I'm skeptical of anyone running sub 10 seconds without performance enhancing drugs, with the possible exception of Carl Lewis.)
