GUI's used to be YUKKI's too

Sci & TechLooking back at the history of GUI's, I'm struck by how ugly some of the older ones were (that we thought were really great.)

I saw your picture, today

Sci & TechI can't believe I never thought of putting a GPS into a camera, to automatically annotate your photos with their locations.  It's a great idea.

From your friendly, neighborhood MS basher

Sci & TechCan someone please explain why MS (Live) Spaces hasn't already kicked MySpace's and blogger's's's's butt?

Open Source Orgasmica

Sci & TechIf you've known me for a while, you probably know that I believe Openoffice.Org competes extremely well with Microsoft Office.  (Well, in the word-processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and database.  Not quite as well in the viewgraph/presentation way.)

Frankly, I don't understand anyone buying the MS version, except possibly if they're dependent on VBA.

But Mrs. dbsmall was a fan of using MS Publisher to lay out photos and do some basic frame-based editing.
And everyone keeps pointing out that if I had Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, editing graphics (say, I don't know, updating Small.to's look) would be much easier.  So what am I to do, if I'm too cheap and just want to try stuff at least, before I commit?

You can't get the sound from a story in a magazine

Sci & TechBy now, you've all checked out YouTube.
And you're probably even hip to Google Video and Yahoo Video.
But, and this is a testament to the difficulty of brand promotion, you probably don't know about blinkx.
